This course is an examination of the Book of Acts with particular emphasis on the birth, growth, and expansion of the early Church, the ministry of the apostles, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Special attention will be given to major events such as Pentecost, the conversion of Saul, the missionary journeys of Paul, and the inclusion of the Gentiles into the people of God. The course will explore the theological themes of Spirit-empowered witness, persecution and perseverance, church leadership, and the unstoppable advance of the Gospel.
The study of this book will enable the student to develop a foundational understanding of the New Testament Church and the continuing mission of God in the world.
